Vaccine Appointment Transportation

United Way of Connecticut, Uber and the Community Health Center Inc. are partnering to offer free rides for clients needing transportation for vaccine appointments. Clients are encouraged to call the Vaccine Appointment Assistance Line at 877-918-2224 to schedule your COVID vaccine appointment and get connected with a ride to and from your appointment. Bilingual assistance is offered. The Line is open 7 days a week from 8:00a.m.-8:00p.m. to speak with a Vaccine Appointment Specialist who can help you schedule an appointment and access transportation assistance.

LLHD Vaccine Pop-up Clinics

LLHD has two pop-up vaccination clinics schedule this week! No registration/appointments needed and folks can select either the Moderna or J&J vaccine when they get there (18+ only please).

Wednesday, May 12th: 5-7pm at Fitch High School

Friday, May 14th: 11-2pm at the New London Senior Center

Also, they are setting aside a small number of appointments for people who need accommodations at the clinic. If you know someone who has a family member who is not able to come in to the big clinic room, please have them contact me directly. We will have a separate room that will be less stressful from a sensory perspective for those who are able to come inside and wear a mask, and will vaccinate folks in their cars in the parking lot if they are not able to come in to the building because of physical limitations or because cognitive/communication disabilities mean they can’t wear a mask. These spots are limited.

United Way Mobile Food Pantry Distributions

The Gemma E. Moran United Way/Labor Food Center will host three Drive-Thru Mobile Pantries as follows:
Anyone in need of food is welcome to attend, and no paperwork is necessary. Guests are asked to remain in their cars and open their trunks, where volunteers can place food boxes. Everyone must wear a mask and practice all COVID-19 safety protocols. The food boxes contain protein, fruits, vegetables, and nonperishable food items.
The sites are accessible for drive-thru or walk-up visitors. Families served on a first come, first serve basis.

03/27/2021- March Tribal Membership Meeting

We will be having our March Tribal Membership Meeting on Saturday, March 27th.

The meeting will be held on the reservation at 10:30am. This meeting will not be covered via Zoom.

We ask that you wear a mask and practice social distancing.

Nominations will follow the regular meeting.

The current seats that are up for election are as follows:

-3 Councilor seats:
-1, 2-year term seat
-2, 3-year term seats
