Tribal member and Ledyard High School senior Chenoa Sebastian has had a busy year! In addition to signing a letter of intent for St. Johns University in Division I Track and Field, she’s recently been named 2014 All-Area Girls’ Indoor Track Athlete of the Year by the New London Day.
Of her track and field career, Ledyard High Principal Amanda Olsen Fagen told The Day, “She came in and crushed records that had been standing for two decades. That’s maybe the clearest indication to me of exactly how rare a natural talent like hers is.”
As the youngest of six children, Chenoa will join two of her sisters, one a model and the other a future neurosurgeon, in New York City to embark on her college career. Chenoa plans to major in education and will run for the St. Johns Red Storm, a Big East Conference team. Congratulations Chenoa!
