June Monthly Membership Meeting

Notice to Eastern Pequot Tribal Members: The next tribal membership meeting will take place on Saturday, June 22nd, 2019 at 10:30am at the Bill Library.

Archaeology Field School Internship

Notice to Eastern Pequot Tribal Nation Members:

The Eastern Pequot Tribal Nation Archaeology Field School in collaboration with UMass Boston Anthropology Department under the direction of Dr. Stephen Silliman will conduct its 2019 summer field school on our historic reservation from July 17 to 31. The field school will consist of filming, educational workshops, analyzing parts of the collection at the Pequot museum and excavating test units.

The Tribal Council will select (2) tribal members. If interested in applying please send your letter of interest to:

by June 21, 2019. Must be in good physical condition and be able to walk on rough terrain, dig rocky soil, and endure unpredictable summer weather.

Dear Tribal Members and Friends,

On Sunday, July 28, 2019, the Historical Eastern Pequot Tribe will be celebrating
336 years of living and exercising control over our historic reservation established in
1683 by the colonial government in Quinnetucket (Connecticut). As one of the
oldest tribal reservations in the country, we will be honoring our culture at our
annual Pow Wow at 12:00 noon on the reservation at Wright Road in North
Stonington, CT.
We request your support with an advertisement, memorial or congratulatory
statement in our 2019 Pow Wow Book. Please send electronic images in JPEG and
text in Word.
