The Tribe
We, the members of the Eastern Pequot Tribal Nation, pledge to protect our sovereignty, conserve and develop our tribal resources, and promote the self-sufficiency of our people and our descendants.
History
The Eastern Pequot Reservation, established in 1683, is one of the earliest tribal reservations in the country and has been continuously occupied by the Eastern Pequot Tribe since the 1670s.
This tribe emerged from the tragic 1637 massacre at the principal Pequot fortified village on Long Island Sound at Mystic. Prior to European colonial incursion in the 1630s and 1640s, the region was home to approximately 26 villages.

In 2021, CT State Budget was approved to fund $1.5 million to DEEP (Dept of Energy and Environmental Protection) for a community septic system, well, and road improvements! Along with supporting the infrastructure for a Tribal Office.
Wuyeekeesuk! The Eastern Pequot Tribal Nation is excited to begin much-needed infrastructure improvements for our historic Indian reservation.
